For good or ill,Dead Island 2came and went without a huge amount of fanfare. Currently, the game has aMetacriticscore of 73 (7.7 from users), which is pretty good, but not exactly boundary-breaking. E3: David Cage reaches new heights in Beyond: Two Souls

Whether you loved it or hated it, you must admit thatHeavy Raincould have been better. Even its creator David Cageadmits it fell short of his ambitions. He’d also be the first to tell you that its follow-up,Beyond: Two Souls, is better, and he wouldn’t be wrong. Beyondisn’t a brave step forward for Quantic Dream. It’s more of a meditative glimpse in all directions; it’s the product of a studio reflecting on what they did right, what they did wrong, and what they can do better....

E3: Is this Nintendo’s official Wii U GamePad stand?

We spotted something interesting on the show floor today at Nintendo’s booth. A few Wii U titles allow you to use the GamePad as a visual aid while using a Wii Remote for gameplay. InPikmin 3, for example, while playing with the Wii Remote, a map of the entire area is displayed on the GamePad’s screen. Well, how would one see the map if the GamePad were lying flat on a coffee table?...

E3: Unchained Blades is an RPG for the hardcore

I doubt it surprises anyone, but my excitement forUnchained Bladesstems from my love of thegame’s soundtrack, which was released last year. While it features a main theme by Nobuo Uematsu that sounds a lot likeIron Chef, the true star is Tsutomu Narita. He has crafted an amazing soundtrack that combines modern instrumentation with fantastic melodies that will remind you of some of your favorite SNES-era RPG soundtracks. After getting some hands-on time with the game, I can tell you this is an RPG for hardcore gamers....
