While Epicenter’sRock of the Deadhas only been announced for the Wii, the developer says “there’s no reason why” we couldn’t see it on other platforms. Speaking with Epicenter’s Bryan Jury formy preview, I’m told that there’s a definite possibility we could be seeing its “kill monsters with your guitar peripheral” on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. “We’re also looking into other platforms as well,” he tells me. “Nothing’s finalized at this point, but we feel like there’s no reason why this kind of gameplay wouldn’t be able to work on other platforms with, you know, the obvious graphical and other enhancements....

Forza Motorsport is insistent on not adding permanent new Career events

Following itsfairly problematic release,Forza Motorsporthas slowly but surely started turning things around at the rate of a first-generation Bugatti Veyron, as it were. Whilethe new updateshave been adding lots of content, it just so happens that much of it is temporary, at best. More specifically, even though the developer Turn 10 has been hard at work producing new events and adding them toForza Motorsport‘s roster of available content, none of them are going to be permanently available as part of the game’s relatively barebones Career mode....

GDC 2007: Mercenaries 2 developer walkthrough

Pandemic was on hand at the GDC to show off their new next-gen title,Mercenaries 2. Even in this pre-alpha version of the game, it’s looking incredibly good, and has quickly risen to the top of my “must play” list for 2007. What I find interesting is their choice of console to demo the game on — the Xbox 360. The team had been adamant about the game not coming to Microsoft’s console (although it had already been revealed it would be, along with a PS2 version) and have previously stated that the PlayStation 3 was the lead platform for the title....

I thought I was tired of roguelike platformers, but GoNNER suggests otherwise

I like the way it moves As much as I don’t think I need another super-tough platformer with roguelike elements in my life, maybe I do! I dig the unusual art and clickety-clackety sound design ofGoNNER. Screenshots don’t do the aesthetic much justice. This trailer is where it’s at: While the hopping off walls and monster shooting would be sufficiently cool on its own, there is a story buried in here somewhere, and it’s pretty strange....

Illusive multiplayer shooter Screencheat hits PS4, Xbox One in March

No party fouls Following its PC release ofScreencheatlast year, Samurai Punk is bringing the unconventional first-person multiplayer shooter to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 27, 2025. It’ll launch at $14.99. In the game, players are invisible, but you’re able to see everyone’s screen to approximate where they’re at on the map, and weapons perform one-hit kills to keep the action flowing. It’s a beautiful mess. The console ports will pack in the PC version’s post-release content, including eight-player support, AI bots for local and online matches, and extra maps, modes, and weapons....
