Respawn responds to harsh Titanfall 2 feedback

‘We learned some valuable things’ I didn’t get around to trying theTitanfall 2multiplayer “tech test” over the weekend, but I sure heard a lot about it from folks who did. Players who viewed the sequel as a step down on multiple fronts made themselves loud and clear. Now, Respawn Entertainment is attempting to assuage fears. “Even though the Tech Test build is a couple months old, we learned some valuable things based on your feedback,” wrote multiplayer game designer Steven DeRose....

That fix for Bloodborne’s long load times is out now

And a new jazzed up loading screen! Bloodborneis a pretty fantastic action game, but as I mentioned in my review, it had a few annoying issues at launch. My chief complaint was the long load times, accompanied by a boring black screen with the game’s logo. Today Patch 1.03 is out, and it reduces loading times by “5-15 seconds” per screen. Wait! Those boring screens are getting a little more jazzed up as well, with item descriptions, a la past games....

The first Detective Pikachu movie trailer is terrifying, looks perfect

Psyduck is the real star here I can only imagine that Pokémon fans reacted to thenews of a film adaptationforDetective Pikachuwith a mix of skepticism and curiosity, with a bit of horror sprinkled in. Today, through the film’s first trailer, Warner Bros. gave us a better picture of what to expect, which is an attempt at a photorealistic, furry electric mouse that happens tosound like Ryan Reynolds. Lead actor Justice Smith (The Get Down) portrays Tim Goodman, a young man who discovers a Pikachu (the voice of Reynolds) and acts as the one person who can understand his “Pika Pikas” as actual words....

The sad, short tale of Mr. Greedy and Mr. Speedy

Today’s Spelunky Challenge! In today’s installment ofThe Daily Spelunk, Jordan and I both succumb to the worst parts of our nature and seal our fate quickly. Of course, nobody was feeling particularly hopeful at the outset. I had been playing ridiculously poor in the few warm-up rounds I had time for, while Jordan made it all the way to Olmec only to bite it mere seconds before we started recording and I think it really shattered his confidence....

Take that, Fifty Shades Oh. Oh nowthisis the sort of stuff I like to see,Sev Cosplay. It reminds me of an important time in my life… The last time I ventured to Hoenn was a journey I will never forget. It was a long, lazy summer full of friends and adventures, but one particular day changed my life forever. It was the day I met Magikarp. He was there, just splashing in the shallow outside Dewford Town, his golden scales reflecting majestically in the summer sun....

Torchlight Frontiers is now Torchlight III, and it’s no longer free-to-play or an MMO

‘The true sequel it was always meant to be’ Torchlight Frontierstook on an unconventional name because it was an unconventional take on theTorchlightseries. The thirdTorchlightstill leaned into itsDiablo-like action RPG sensibilities, but it also marked a departure of sorts from what people expected from another sequel.Frontierswould pursue new angles like a free-to-play model, an MMO-like structure, and leveling that focused on aggregate gear and item stats rather than the character....
