Better late than never As a part of its plans for the anniversary of Windows 10’s launch, Microsoft intends to enhance the Xbox One. After all, it is a Windows 10 product. The tech giant took some time today to outline three significant features that are coming to Xbox One this summer, including one that’s long-awaited. At today’s Microsoft Build conference keynote in San Francisco, it was revealed that the next large system update would turn all Xbox Ones into developer kits....

Adjusting aim I lovedXCOM 2, but even its biggest fans could agree that it needed some serious patch-love. Bugs, hitches, and some nasty difficulty spikes all conspired to keep the game from becoming the instant classic it should have been. Thankfully, Firaxis is on the case and hasissued a major updateto combat several of these complains. The patch includes several performance and graphics tweaks that will hopefully improve the experience. Interestingly, a new feature called “zip mode” has been added in, allowing players to opt into a speedier version of the game with less downtime....

I haven’t played it yet, nor do I own a system that would allow me to do so, but I do have extremely fond memories of making my way through the firstGears of Warback on the Xbox 360. But it’s almost more heartwarming to see how aspirational their quest to become a warplane is within their means, within the limitations of a gothic fantasy game. It starts with a name — in this case, “AC-130” — and then any attempt to facilitate a warplane lifestyle, from the walking on thin air hack to the rapid fire arrows meant to resemble guns....
