The greatest fighting game players in the world will descend on the venue to face off on the biggest fighting games of the time. EVO 2018 is scheduled to run from August 3 through 5. This is a little later than the tournaments usual July slot....

As a surprise to no one, Square Enix has officially announced and acknowledged the existenceof the rumoredDeus Ex: Human Revolution: Director’s Cutfor the Wii U. The new Wii U-centric features include GamePad hacking, interactive map editing, sniping, and other minor gameplay enhancements. It’ll also have Miiverse integration and developer commentaries, as well as an in-game guide system. Prior DLC will be included “seamlessly” into the experience, the boss fights have reportedly been reworked, and there will be improved AI....
Hard to believeDeus Ex: Human Revolutionisn’t releasing until late August. The PC version, as was revealed today by Square-Enix, is set to use Steamworks. It’s the obvious choice, for sure, but not necessarily a guaranteed one. As per usual, automatic updates, cloud saving, and achievements are supported. It was also recently disclosed that the PC version will do DirectX 11, AMD Eyefinity (up to five monitors), and 3D, should you have the necessary equipment to make use of any of these fancy technologies....
Serious Sam 3: BFEis apparently doing quite well on Steam, with publisher Devolver Digital boasting on Twitter that “people will pay for awesome.” According to the Devolver CFO Fork Parker,SS3“combats piracy by being a fun, frantic game and offers wild ass 16-player campaign co-op.” Sensing an opportunity, I contacted Mr. Parker to get some extended thoughts on the piracy issue. “Piracy is a problem and there is no denying that but the success of games likeSkyrimand our ownSerious Sam 3on PC illustrates that there is clearly a market willing to pay for PC games,” he said....

Said items will arrive in the normal loot pool eventually, so don’t feel left out if you don’t play — and your season character will revert eventually....

It’s zombies meets parkour meets sledghammers Look, it may seem derisive to describeDying Lightas just “Dead Island+ parkour” but dang if that ain’t what it looks like. In this six-minute video you’ll see some light traversal and some heavy-duty zombie bashing using either an axe and sledgehammer. I had never noticed these x-ray melee attacks before and they definitely underline the physicality of the melee system. The melee combat does seem really familiar but that’s unsurprising as developer Techland was the studio behindDead Island Riptide....

Instead of saving Princess Sara from Garland, these four warriors must save Princess Horun from the Witch of the North. Producer Tomoya Asanohas called the game“a classic fantasy RPG using today’s technology,” suggesting a bare-bones retro feel: turn-based battles, magic points, generic storyline. While that’s certainly true,Final Fantasy Gaidendoesn’t seem to be a slapdash re-tread of the original game....
Epic Games has disabled the use of Nitro Fists and vehicles inFortnitefor Ranked and Zero Build game modes during the All Sweat Summer event. From July 4 to July 18, Nitro Fists will not be part of the loot in these two modes, and no vehicle or vehicular items will be available. This also means that no Boss Cars will be available. Moreover, NPCs cannot be hired as allies, and are now hostile characters and bosses with their Medallions for these two modes....

It’s free today, which is the kind of “less is more” attitude thatIreally like. Block Worldis a slow-paced platforming game made entirely of colored shapes. However, being slow does nothing to stop the challenge, with some sneaky trial-and-error problems inserted into the proceedings from the get-go....
