Paititi uncovered Eidos Montreal and Square Enix have uploaded a video today featuring ten minutes of footage compiled from the upcoming, rock climbing, throat-stabbing adventure gameShadow of the Tomb Raider. One billion Switch games sold to date Nintendo has revealed thenewest sales figuresregarding its Nintendo Switch platform, which sees the console pass the 125 million unit mark, as well as hitting an all-time record in regards to software sales. According to the data, 3.07 million Nintendo Switch consoles were sold during the first quarter of 2023, (ending March 31), which pushes total unit sales to 125.62 million. While an additional three million sold Switch consoles is not to be sniffed at, it does represent a huge 22% sales drop on the previous year, continuing a downward trend for Switch hardware sales in general....

Loot boxes, ho! WhilePlayerUnknown’s Battlegroundsdid manage to release in 2017, the game didn’t suddenly shed all of its problems. Upon release day last month, there was a problem with the BP (or battle points) system for the game’s reward crates. A lot of players did not properly receive points based on their performance and PUBG Corp. has issued an apology for the occurrence. “We would first like to offer our most sincere apologies to our users who could not fully enjoy the game because BP was not given out properly,” reads the Steam Community forum post, “an issue which had occurred after the PC 1....

2024 continues its tragic track record of layoffs and studio shutdowns, with no less than four of Bethesda’s studios either closing or being absorbed according to an email sent out to staff by Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty. According to the email, which was shared and verified byIGN, the four studios impacted are Arkane Austin, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog Games, and Roundhouse Studios. While Arkane Austin, Tango Gameworks and Alpha Dog Games are being completely shuttered, Roundhouse Studios will be merged into ZeniMax Online Studios, which works onThe Elder Scrolls Online....

Bold strategy, Cotton Sea of Thievesjust enjoyed a boisterous boost on Twitch thanks to its recent beta period and its ability to convey emergent stories on a streaming platform. How it’ll fare once it actually arrives next month is anyone’s guess, but in the meantime I’m enjoying the trickle of information every so often that helps us figure out what the final version will be like.
