It’s ‘completely sustainable’ as is For the three years Xbox Game Pass has been around, plenty of people have wondered how Microsoft can balance the books on this type of service. There’s always a stupidly low-cost introductory offer and then it’s a reasonable month price. Xbox Game Pass is on par with Netflix or Hulu or any of the other million entertainment subscription services that exist. The armchair logic has always sort of been that Microsoft is eating the cost of getting stuff on Xbox Game Pass while building a robust user base....

Now that doesn’t mean the piece is finished though. They have plans on working on it again and adding all types of videogame characters, not just Nintendo ones either....

While the ’80s and ’90s PC erasweren’t perfect, they were a veritable breeding ground for future content creators. When developers and publishers didn’t deliver, modders answered the call. Some of them turned it into a full-time gig, others were just content with giving everything away for free. But one thing is for sure now — publishers want a slice, if not the whole pie. And also Haunted House Horror this, horror that. 2014 is going to be known for the year the horror genre really took off again. Presumably because games likeSlender Man,Outlast, and more have made some of the bigger companies realize there’s real interest in the genre again. Anyway, Atari is falling on the hype train too and they want to reviveAlone in the DarkandHaunted House. Both are slated for release this year on PC, and we’re going to be seeing the games for the very first time at PAX next weekend....

Battlefield 6is topping Steam’s top-seller chart, surpassing even free-to-play titles such as Valve’s ownCounter-Strike 2. It’s undeniable that DICE’s shooter looks promising, especially compared to previous games in the series, but let’s not pretend likeBF2042never happened. As EA slowly but surely wraps up development onBattlefield 6, which is slated to release on Oct. 10 this year, players have been going hand over fist to pre-order it. It thus earned the title a top spot on Steam’s top-sellers list, above free-to-play titles, even, which you’d expect are getting the most players to click on and download them....

What could be better than that? The beautifully animated, low-fi, post-apocalyptic action strategy gameC-Warshas less than a week to go in its Kickstarter campaign, and sadly, it’s not looking good for the game’s potential to hit the Wii U or the PS Vita. The 3DS stretch goal is well within reach though, with about $6K to raise in as many days. In fact, the devs are already promising 3DS codes to anyone who pledges $15 or more....
