The soulslike genre is hardly an unexplored frontier these days. While I generally detest using the “like” nomenclature, it’s hard to deny that FromSoftware made some very specific tweaks to the action-RPG genre that keep getting lifted wholesale. I was recently perturbed byLies Of Pessentially just liftingBloodborne, sprinkling some variations from otherSoulsgames, and then just calling it a day. I have trouble applauding someone for just copying the successes of another company wholesale....

Three DLC episodes in all Bohemia Interactive plans on releasingArma III’scampaign in three free episodic downloadable content releases. The first episode is calledSurvive, and will be released within a month of the main game’s actual release. Motion blur sucks, and that’s coming from someone who does use it. In video games, it generally helps smooth out the perceived frame-rate in a video game, but it also smears the image to a ridiculous degree. The good news is that BlurBusters might have an alternative. As you may or may not know,the old cathode-ray tube screens weren’t without merit. Heavy, clunky, and egregiously outdated in some respects, CRTs handled motionmuch, much betterthan any modern screen does....

It’s been rather quiet on theArma 3front, presumably because everyone is too busy working on the game. Bohemia Interactive is calling this the company’s “largest ever project,” promising that much more will be unveiled at E3 and gamescom this year. For now, though, we’ve gota few updates. Project lead Dan Musil says the studio has “adhered to a strong focus upon backward compatibility,” and to bring this point home, Bohemia is planning an early playable build ofArma 3....
