PlayStation just released a brand-new gameplay trailer ofLost Soul Aside, which confirms that this unique action RPG that went viral in 2016 will come out on PlayStation 5 and PC next year. The fact that this game finally received a release window after 9 years of development is very exciting.

Lost Soul Asidecombines hack-and-slash (LikeDevil May Cry andNinja Gaiden) games with RPGs (like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts). These inspirations are immediately evident in the new gameplay trailer, which showcases the main character, Kazer, pulling off some fast, dynamic and impressive combos on a bunch of enemies. The combat is the main star ofLost Soul Aside, and after so many years of development, it now looks better than ever.

This is great news for fans of the Action RPG genre who wanted to try it out on their PCs, and it’s yet another example ofSony’s new initiative to port more of its exclusive to home computers.

The long development history of Lost Soul Aside

Lost Soul Asideoriginally went viral back in 2016 when its sole creator, Yang Bing, postedits first trailer on his personal YouTube channel. Gamers all over around the world were captivated by the impressive graphics, interesting characters, incredible combat and epic boss battles, especially when considering that it was all created by just one person. A few months later, Bing announced that he had founded his own studio, called Ultizero Games, and that Sony was going to publishLost Soul Asideas part ofits China Hero Project initiative.

From then on, Lost Soul Aside kept popping out at many different PlayStation events, like PSX 2017, complete with a playable demo. Despite Sony’s funding, Ultizero Games is still a relatively small studio, so the development was quite slow. But fans of franchises likeDevil May Cry,Final FantasyandKingdom Heartswere very patient, as the game kept looking better and betteron each subsequent demo and trailer. It seems all these years of waiting will be worth it because Lost Soul Aside is on its final stretch of development, and we’re finally going to be able to try it out sometime next year.
