Nicolas Games, developer and publisher of the upcoming post apocalyptic romp,Afterfall: InSanity, are taking an interesting route with their games marketing. They are offering preorders for a measly dollar on theirwebsite. Then, once their target goal (10 million copies) is reached, they will be putting the game on peer-to-peer networks and 10 per cent of their revenue will be donated to a charity. If the target isn’t reached then all of the revenue will end up going to the charity but customers will have to pay the rest of the $33.90. Players will receive a copy of the sonudtrack and those who register their copies will be honored in the game’s credits.

Afterfall: InSanityis survival horror game set in an alternate post Third World War universe in 2035. Players take on the role of a psychiatrist — Albert Tokaj — who attempts to escape his shelter. The game promises plenty of action and disturbing horror. Despite it’s unfortunate name I’m rather interested. While the setting is a bit generic, having a shrink protagonist could lend itself well to the genre and the marketing methods are intriguing. Yet another Polish developer thinking outside the box, it seems. It launches digitally on November 25.
