The Pipe Vault is a fun optional area inSuper Mario RPGthat will spill you into the Yo’ster Isle. But before you get there, you have some secrets to uncover.
Both off the hidden chests in the Pipe Vault are located in the same room. Once you progress past the initial two areas, you’ll find yourself looking down a series of pipes. Enter the first one in the sequence (not counting the one you came out of), and you’ll find yourself seemingly stuck. The good news is, you’re not actually stuck. In fact, there are three Frog Coins here for the taking that you may enjoy. Here’s how to get them.

#1: On the bridge
As you might have guessed, your first step involves climbing onto the bridge hanging over you. Jump up in the blank space right before it to reveal a secret yellow block (pictured above). This will give you a platform to jump on, which will then let you access that upper level.
The first hidden chest can be found right on the third tile on the bridge. Jump up and hit it to nab yourself a frog coin.
#2: On the bridge, again
Similarly, the second hidden chest in the room is right between the first hidden chest and the not-hidden chest. Jump up in the spot pictured above to net yourself yet another Frog Coin. However, don’t jump off and run towards that spring just yet.
How to get the frog coin in the Pipe Vault in Super Mario RPG
While this isn’t a hidden chest, it might as well be one. You’ll see a Frog Coin by the spring that you’ll use to exit the room. Problem is, it’s in too tight of a spot for Mario to fit into… or so you’d think.
Getting this coin involves using a gimmick that I’m not even sure pops up anywhere else in the game.To get this one, give yourself a running start dashing towards the coin. Then, right before you reach the place where the coin is, flick down on your joystick. This will make Mario crouch down, sliding under and grabbing the Frog Coin in the process.
It kind of makes sense if you’ve played 2DMariogames before, but not so much in the context of this game. Oh well, that’s how you get that sneaky coin at any rate!
