Black Ops 3 confirmed for old consoles
No matter what Activision says, warfare hasn’t advanced all that far. That’s evident by the fact thatBlack Ops 3will release on legacy consoles, making it the eleventhCall of Dutytitle on PS3 and Xbox 360.
Activisionconfirmedthe last-gen release ofBlack Ops 3on the publisher’s games blog. These will be created by Beenox and Mercenary Technology, rather than Treyarch, who’s handling primary development. Predictably, these versions will be stripped of some functionality that PC, PS4, and Xbox One users will have access to. Additionally, cooperative play on PS3 and Xbox 360 will be limited to two players instead of four.

The announcement isn’t too surprising, seeing asCall of Dutyis one of gaming’s most popular and well-selling franchises. Activision would be wise not to put out more of that user base than it needs to. Still, other publishers like Ubisoft havecompletely moved awayfrom developing for last-gen systems. It can’t be much longer before Activision follows suit.
