Goonswarm’s a bit smaller now

Remember thatEVE Onlinemonumentthat CCP gave to the city of Reykjavik? Yeah, that’s been defaced already. Shortly after Fanfest ended, some players placed a Goonswarm sticker on the monument and scratched out a player’s name.

They’re going to pay the price, though — maybe something that’s more valuable to them than money. The three people that were involved in the vandalism have been permanently banned fromEVE Online. A fourth that played an indirect role has received a six month ban. In total, sevenEVE Onlineaccounts and oneDust 514account were shut down.

According to aforum post by CCP, it now considers this matter resolved within the game, and any further action with regard to criminal charges or recovery of costs will remain a private matter. CCP further made known its position about player relationships by stating “We would like to reiterate that we do not tolerate this kind of behavior and will continue to operate a zero tolerance approach to dealing with harassment and victimization in the EVE Universe.”
