It’s going to be a hard sell
I don’t know where I was on April 23, but Imissedthe first footage ofOverlord: Fellowship of Evil. Until today, I was under the impression the new game was going to beOverlord III. Damn.
Codemasters has a Q&Aup on its blogand a “Know Your Minions” video (heh). The game’s newdirection has “come as a surprise to our fanbase (we’re not blind to the YouTube comments), but I guess we just ask that fans give it a try – you might be pleasantly surprised.”
Keeping an open mind will be easier said than done. “Overlord: Fellowship of Evilis a big change in some respects, but it’s also very faithful in others,” says the studio. “This is the main reason we didn’t title itOverlord III. We’ve never even used that name in the office. Once we knew the game was going to be a spinoff (pretty much day one) we realised that’s how the game needed to be.”
