Is a subscription really necessary?

Warzone 2.0and theDMZextraction modeare free-to-play, while the traditional multiplayer and campaign are only accessible if you’ve purchased the game outright. Warzone 2.0is truly free-to-play
The short answer is no, you don’t need a subscription to PlayStation Plus (or the Microsoft equivalent, Xbox Live Gold) in order to playWarzone 2.0.As stated above, theWarzonemodes, as well asDMZ, are part of the game’s free-to-play model, so you’re good to jump into those sans subscription. It’s only the multiplayer that will require PS Plus, but if you’re not into that anyway, you’re off the hook.
