CCP Games has revealed that the “First Strike” live event forEVE Vanguard will kick off on December 7. The online playtest is for EVE Vanguard, the upcoming sandbox FPS module that will connect to thelong-running MMORPGEVE Online.
Persistent Universe with EVE Online
According to CCP Games, EVE Vanguard will connect directly to the EVE universe from Day One with a persistent new world. Players in Vanguard will be able to fuel the ongoing wars in the EVE Online MMO allowing players to add corruption to the frontlines, deliver vital resources to the EVE economy, and complete contracts to alter the tides of battles.
New Patch for Havoc
Alongside news of theEVE Vanguardplaytest, CCP Games also revealed an upcoming patch for the latestEVE Onlineexpansion, Havoc. Highlights of the patch include:
I’m excited to see what EVE Vanguard is all about. Years ago when CCP Games tried this before with Dust 514, the concept itself was very intriguing but felt like maybe it was a bit before its time. Now, however, technology is in the right place to make a truly persistent online shooter that ties in directly with an ongoing MMORPG.
