‘I’m gonna be a sky pirate’
I’ve always had a lukewarm relationship withFinal Fantasy XII, and its protagonist, Vaan.
The only thing it really did for me was apeFinal Fantasy XI‘s combat and add in gambits. Post-game content was pretty cool compared to most of the series, but the story and characters (outside of Balthier of course) didn’t grip me throughout. I felt this way at launch, and a few years ago I replayed it and had the same outcome. I’d definitely play an HD version though.
As forDissidiaitself, it’s set to launch in arcades this week in Japan. One cast member has been introduced per game, and now that we’re onFinal Fantasy XII, the only characters left to debut are Lightning, Y’shtola (fromXIV), and Ramza (fromTactics). From there, Square says they want to work on “over 50 characters” to add in over time.
