Crossovers are awesome.Capcom, Sega, and Namco Bandai joining forces? Awesome!PokémonandNobunaga’s Ambitiongetting all chummy? Also awesome!Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright putting their noggins together? Unbelievably awesome! If all these different game studios, developers, and mascots could collaborate more frequently, we could tear down the walls of injustice and embrace one another as brothers and sisters.
Guild01is another big step towards that dream. In case you’ve forgotten, it’s a compilation of four games by four different developers: Grasshopper’s Suda51, Japanese comedian Yoshiyuki Hirai, Yoot Saito ofSeamanfame, and Level-5’s Yasumi Matsuno. Wait… a comedian?Stranger things have happened!
The four, 15-second commercials above, in the order of their respective developers listed above, are the sci-fi shooterKaiho Shojowith cutscenes by Bones, the RPGRental Bukiya de Omasse, the airport simAero Porter, and the RPGCrimson Shroud. Will this leave Japan? I hope so. In the meantime,Guild01is on track for release on May 31.
