The latestFischupdate brings an all-new area and challenge to the fishing game, as well as a properly-themed Avalanche event requiring players to scale the summit of a mountain while surviving. Here is how you can find and complete the Avalanche event inFischin the new area.
Where to find the Avalanche event
The Avalanche event takes place in the recently added Northern Expedition Mountain also known as the Northern Summit, a towering peak of mountains in the southwestern area of Fisch’s massive world map. To reach the Northern Expedition Mountain you’ll need to charter a boat to the area between Terrapin Isle and the Forsaken Shores. As you approach the area the marker indicator for the Northern Expedition Mountain will appear.
Once you reach the location you may interact with the portal to enter a separate map that has the actual Northern Mountain Summit on it, which hints that this actual Northern Expedition area will probably grow and be added to over time.
Make a note of the Northern Expedition Mountain’s base camp as this is where the Merchant is located for you to be able to sell your fish from the area as well as purchase a new rod.
How to complete the Avalanche event
The actual Avalanche event at the Northern Expedition can occur both randomly and via manual activation, allowing players to trigger one manually for a steep price to obtain the Yellow Energy Crystal. In order to trigger one manually, you’ll need to purchase an Avalanche Totem for 150,000C$ which is a pretty hefty amount. When used, an Avalanche will be triggered immediately.
To survive during an Avalanche event, you need to find cover. While you’re safe at the base camp, if you’re currently scaling the mountain you’ll find shelter int he various caves scattered across it. Look for the glowing bright blue crystal formations that often indicate a cave is nearby, then head inside and hunker down until the Avalanche is over.
The purpose of the Avalanche event is to spawn the Yellow Energy Crystal which is required toget the powerful Heaven’s Rod. After an Avalanche occurs, the Yellow Energy Crystal can be found at the following coordinates:X: 19498, Y: 335, Z: 5551.
