Bungie has been dipping deep into the well of secrets and mechanics withDestiny 2:The Final Shape. With the release of theEchoesEpisode, players are likely to encounter some phantoms on Nessus. Unlocking their secrets is the key to accessing the new Enigma Protocol activity.
Secrets upon secrets in the Echoes Episode
Decode: The Cistern
Upon landing in The Cistern on Nessus, after completing the introductory mission for Echoes, you’ll spot what appears to be a Prismatic figure. As you near, they’ll disappear, leaving only a ring. Standing in the ring begins populating your HUD with random letters and numbers.
Proceed down the path as if you were heading for the Well of Flame and there will be another Prismatic figure. They’ll disappear on approach, just like the other, but this time, there will be a Vex conflux that you can interact with. Obtain the decoder protocol and go back to the first spot to decode the message.

Decode: The Tangle
The first clue points us toward The Tangle, which is accessed via Artifact’s Edge. You encounter the first of several large trees along the way and your decoding Prismatic figure will be off to the right of the path.
With the decoder in hand, you’ll have 60 seconds to reach the next figure, which is plenty of time. Keep following the path into The Tangle, where you’ll run into the Prismatic figure at the fork in the road.

the echoing Well finds purchase in the Network.
Enter the Enigma Protocol
The clues point to a Well, of which there are four on Nessus. The one we want is the Well of Echoes, which is in the southwest corner of The Tangle.
Proceed to the bottom of the well to find a Vex Firewall Champion. As is becoming increasingly common with the Vex, this one is immune. Destroy the Vex data cubes around the arena to make it vulnerable.
Once the Firewall Guardian is no longer a threat, jump down the newly created hole in the floor. This will open up the 2005 Power mission, Enigma Protocol. You’re free to access the activity immediately or you’re able to come back to it via the H.E.L.M.
