Sam Barlow, the director of the highly acclaimedImmortalityandHer Story, has recently teased his new work. I’m talking about the mysteriously titled Project D████. That’s not the result of monitor burn-in, but seemingly Barlow’s attempt at captivating fans via some sort of viral detective call-to-action. At first, details seem scarce, but he’s clearly making references toSilent Hill. Let’s dive into what we have:
Right now, we only know thatProject D????will be a survival horror title directed by Sam Barlow and published by Half Mermaid Productions. It’s possibly set in 1983, involves one or more nurses, and it warns players about a nightmare. I know it looks like I’m not saying anything, so feel free to read the official release and see what you may make of it.

“Project D████ is a █████ █ survival horror ███ Sam Barlow ██ Half Mermaid.
██████ █████ ██ 1983 ██ █ █████████ ████ ████ ████████, ███ ████ ████ ██████ ██████ nurse █████ ███ ████ ███████ █████ ████ ███████ in ███████ ███. Be careful ███████ ████ ███ ████ ████ █ nightmare.”

It’s all very intentionally vague, but it gets more interesting when you realize Barlow’s tweet also makes mentions ofshattered memories. That, along with the previous reference to nurses, can’t help but make fans reminisce aboutSilent Hill. I get that Barlow could be making aSilent Hillreference to coast on the brand’s rebirth, but he was actually the lead writer and designer ofSilent Hill: OriginsandSilent Hill: Shattered Memories. Many already know the silly rabbit hole we could fall into, in suspecting a game of being a secretSilent Hillproject. If you’re out of the loop, you should totally check out the story ofAbandoned, a vaporware game that became popular, then infamous, as its director attempted to sneakily lead the Internet tobelieve it was a newSilent Hillgame.
IsDreally a new secretSilent Hillproject, is Barlow just flashing his horror credentials, or is he messing with a type of fire he might not be able to put out?

Barlow’s Twitter name also makes reference to a “Project C,” of which he’s yet to reveal any details.
