While exploring the Pine Heights biome for the first time, you’ll eventually stumble across an “ancient megastructure” with no clear purpose. But there’s a way to find out. You need to find and gather all the Artifacts in Pine Heights, which awards in world lore behindLightyear Frontier.
There are nine Artifacts to gather in the Pine Heights biome ofLightyear Frontier, and they’re all hidden near the structure. You can gather them by destroying ‘Strange Rocks’ that emit a soft, purple glow. The rocks shatter after taking a few hits with a Spike Saw or your pickaxe, leaving the ‘Artifact’ behind.
All Pine Heights Artifact locations inLightyear Frontier
As mentioned, there are nine Artifacts to locate in Pine Heights. The first of which is located right in front of the structure, lying on the base of a fallen pillar. The second Artifact is just beyond. You’ll find it on top of a pile of rocks against the “wall” of the structure. Getting to it is easier if you leave the mech.
Next, drop down and look for the narrow entrance surrounded by purple ‘sci-fi tech lines’. The mech won’t fit through the hole:
You’ll find the remaining Artifacts by going left and walking toward the cropping of rocks, trees, and purple sci-fi crap. These can only be gathered while outside the mech.
The next Artifact you should get is behind the broken panel of glass. Head inside and look left to find it:
Leave and take a sharp left to see a cave in the wall. Head inside to find one Artifact off to the left:
And another near the wall on top of a pile of rocks for you to climb:
Leave the cave and look to your left at the rocks piled against the wall. You’ll find the next Artifact underneath a structure near the rocks:
Now, climb the rocks to find the eighth Artifact past a metal beam. Afterward, head for the last Artifact on top of the wall.
What do the Pine Heights Artifacts give you inLightyear Frontier?
Gathering every Pine Heights Artifact inLightyear Frontierawards you with…some Dam lore. Apparently, the ancient structure is a dam, as explained by the information gathered from the Artifacts. To read up on the Dam, open up the menu and navigate to the ‘Database’ tab. Click on ‘Findings’ and then ‘Dam’.
Gathering all the Artifacts also awarded me with a new construct: the ‘Strange Table’, which you’re able to craft for your homestead.
