With these new figures, theStreet Fighterfranchise now boasts a mighty 50 million lifetime sales, a deserved number for a series that, ultimately, wrote the blueprint for the fighting game genre. While the success of 1991’sStreet Fighter IIcan be considered the de facto release in the franchise’s storied history, later games such asStreet Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, andUltra Street Fighter IVare similarly important in keeping the lifeblood of the series pumping from generation to generation.
Street Fighter 6is available now on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms. Be sure to check out our guide hub for the title, as well as my thoughts on which characters should arrive via the DLC train.
