Nintendo has finally released an official list of games incompatible with Nintendo Switch 2 after initially revealing in the first reveal Nintendo Direct that not all Switch 1 games are usable on the system, and there are actually some big surprises on the list we were not expecting.
On the Nintendo website, Nintendogoes into the full list of incompatiblegames on Switch 2 coming from Switch 1, as well as games that have some compatibility issues with the new system, and while they might start, they won’t be able to be played fully.

Equally, Nintendo has listed a slew of games that require Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons to be played on Nintendo Switch 2. You can connect the old Joy Con controllers to Switch 2 wirelessly, even if they can’t connect to the sides of the console. The list of games that require this method to work on Switch 2 includes:

Some of the above games are shocking additions, but there are also a lot that aren’t really that surprising.WarioWarenot being usable on Switch 2 is wild for me without using the old Joy-Cons. Is there really that much of a difference?
Outside of Nintendo’s own lineup, there are hundreds of partner games that are still having issues with Switch 2 ahead of launch. Most of these issues are being addressed or looked into, and there’s a full list of the games having these issues on the Nintendo website. There are some big names on the list, too, likeMega Man, Just Dance, and other huge IPs. So it’s worth checking it all out.
