Watch out, boys. This cat’s got claws.
NVIDIA’s looking to make more graphical waves in themobile and tablet marketwith the unveiling of the Tegra 4i LTE mobile processor. The company has also released the new specs on its i500 LTE modem, which will be integrated with the Tegra 4i.
The Tegra 4i, formerly known as “Project Grey,” is boasting 60 custom NVIDIA GPU cores in a package half the size of its competition. Built upon the quad-core ARM R4 Cortex-A9 CPU and including an optimized version of the NVIDIA i500 LTE modem, the Tegra 4i not only promises“console-quality” gamingbut also smoother and scalable network upgradability.

While the Tegra 4i measures in at only five times the power of theTegra 3processor, NVIDIA feels that the fifth battery-saving core of the Cortex-A9 CPU and the addition of the i500 LTE modem is the future of its mobile processor. So long as I can check my mail, tweet, sporadically play someAngry Birds: Star Wars, and not have to run to a wall outlet, I’ll be happy.
