While Green Day had been rocking small clubs and pushing its sound grassroots style with Lookout! Records for years, it wasn’t until its major label debut and first single, “Longview,” that the band started to receive worldwide attention. Poof Final Fantasy XVis full of surprises, and one of those was easily the out of nowhereAssassin’s Creedevent. Sadly, Square Enix has confirmed that the festival is ending on January 31, so if you want to get in on the action, you should boot up your game soon-ish....

Here’s a pleasant surprise 38 Studios went bankrupt, and now all of its goodies will be sold at anupcoming auction. One of the properties to be auctioned off isRise of Nations: Tactics, a Mac game that is fully finished. A company hired to assist with 38 Studios assets found the title in preparation for the auction. It seems a little weird to me that this is a Mac-only game, but I’m sure anyone that buys it could easily get it running on PC too....

A reason to revisit Goat Simulator Coffee Stain Studios hasn’t stopped supporting its wonky physics sandbox gameGoat Simulator, thank goodness. The mobile versiondidn’t entice me, but this fantasy-themed Goat MMO Simulator expansion is exactly the type of weird content I want and expect from the studio. It’s releasing this Thursday on Steam and it’s free if you ownGoat Simulator. I’m unsure what all is in here, but Coffee Stain is calling the update its “biggest and craziest thing” yet....
