I can’t wait to see these things in the movie It’s been a while since I’ve played thePokemon Trading Card Game, but it’s still going, and popping into every promotion it can get its figurative hands on. In addition to new cards with every generation it’s also getting a crossover with the upcomingDetective Pikachufilm, which includes the crazy/realistic designs that come along with it. We already knew about a few of them (Charizard, Greninja and Detective Pikachu), but you can get a good look at Psyduck, Jigglypuff and Mr....

You know how it goes before systems are released. We always look at the technical specifications and figure out which one is more powerful so we can argue on the internet armed with knowledge. By now we know that the Xbox 360 and PS3 are pretty close to each other in number crunching power, but devs say at this stage of this console generation the PS3 comes out just a bit ahead....

Of all the cities, on all the planets… Yesterday saw Team Yakuza host itsRyu ga Gotokuanniversary stream, looking back on the myriad of mainline titles and spin-off releases in the dramatic/ridiculous RPG franchise, celebrating 15 years of back-alley brawls and hilariously off-tone mini-games. Unfortunately the stream was, (once again), a bust in regards to new announcements, with series director Toshihiro Nagoshi reiterating his previous statement that the development team is currently working on a new title, but offering no new details regarding the mystery title’s brand, platform, gameplay style, or release date....

Ultimate scheme EA has made no bones about the fact that the extra content market plays a large role in its earnings. A year and a half ago, the publisher said it aimed for$1 billion in revenueannually from selling add-ons. Since then, it has exceeded those numbers due mostly to microtransactions in sports games. At a Morgan Stanley investor conference (and as reported on byGamesIndustry International), EA CFO Blake Jorgensen detailed the digital side of the business and mentioned that Ultimate Team purchases from theMadden,FIFA, andNHLfranchises bring in around $650 million per year....

Opening Night Live is the main draw Like every other video game expo this year, Gamescom had to either adapt to the pandemic or bail. That meant shifting from a physical gathering with way too many people in Cologne to a worldwide, all-digital event with “world premieres, news, games, and events.” It also means a slight date change. This year, the digital-only Gamescom 2020 will run from Thursday, August 27 to Sunday, August 30....

It’s the weekend, and the Milton Keynes CeX store is always packed at these peak hours. Set within a busy city, the line is almost outside the door, and many customers are scurrying over themselves, searching for PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, PS4, and PS5 games. GameStop in North America is quite the opposite of this, with plenty of Funko POP toys stalking the aisles, some games, and a lack of customers at most hours of the day (at least in my experience)....

In case you missed it, 2K Sports released theirfirst trailer forNHL 2K9a couple of days ago, and now we’ve got a bevy of screens to go with it. There are 15 images of the PS3/360 version of the game, and 17 from the waggle-enhanced Wii version. Again, I’m happy to note that 2K’s infamous depth of field filter seems to have been removed from the game — now, there’s a simple focus blur effect that’s much less overzealous and intrusive....
