New Donk City is hopefully a sign of what’s to come for Mario Golf: Super Rush

Take me down to the New Donk City, where the grass is green and the shots are chippy Mario Golf: Super Rushgot itsfirst bout of post-launch content last night: the previously shown New Donk City course, based on the city fromSuper Mario Odyssey. And you might think a city, with its urban sprawl and massive skyscrapers, would make for a bad—or at least, unconventional—golf course. It does, and that’s why it works so well....

New Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers video doesn’t suck

Sorry for the unimaginative post title, butFinal Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearershas such a long-ass name that I didn’t have room for any extra words other than “new,” “video,” and “doesn’t suck.” It’s true, though — so far, this game doesn’t look too bad, although other than the requisite inclusion of chocobos and moogles, most of the stuff shown here is going to look pretty weird to mostFinal Fantasyfans. Cactuars growing to enormous sizes as the player is congratulated for a “New Reaction,” bombs and goats being thrown across open fields via telekinesis, and a neon heart-light flying out a pig-woman’s face and into the head of a green-haired child are just a few of the things going on here that are unlike anything I’ve ever seen in aFinal Fantasygame … or any game, for that matter....

New Snapshot footage will warm your heart

Independent developer Retro Affecthas put fortha new trailer for its charming game,Snapshot. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen this one — probably not since its Independent Games Festival days back when the visuals looked much more akin toYoshi’s Island. I’m proud to saySnapshothas grown into itself; the new art style better matches the originality of the main “snapshot” mechanic. That, and the music is excellent. We’ll be keeping an eye out going forward....

That’s about to change as the Evercade VS’latest updateadds support for analog controllers. I’ll be honest with you, I don’t own an Evercade VS, so my relief is strictly vicarious....

Ridable elephants in the Himalayas rumored for Far Cry 4

Yes to all of this As much as I truly am down for moreFar Cry, I don’t have it in me to play through another tropical island setting. Also, there might be monsters? Yeah. That wouldn’t be too shocking. In addition to backing up prior reports about the new locale, the outlet has it on good authority thatFar Cry 4will let players ride elephants, which is going to sound pointless to some of you and freakin’ amazing to the rest of us....
