Earlier this summer, Google’s Motorola Mobilityobtained an injunction against Microsoftfrom a German court. A Mannheim judge issued a sales ban on several Microsoft devices for the violation of four patents. That included the Xbox 360 and its use of H.264 video compression technology, which the platform holder licenses from Motorola for several of its devices. On Friday, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously upheld the decision of a Seattle-based US District Court which put the German injunction on hold....

Where to find the Abandoned Lanaryu Mine in Tears of the Kingdom

Talk about elusive! Very late intoZelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’re asked to investigate various abandoned mines in the depths for a sidequest (that informs a main quest). Although the game helpfully throws you into the first mine with relative ease (just follow the statues), the second and third times around are a little less straightforward. Here’s how to find the Abandoned Lanaryu Mine inTears of the Kingdom. Where to find the Abandoned Lanaryu Mine for the main story quest Although the quest will provide a marker, it’s practically useless, because it doesn’t actually highlight where the entrance to the mine is....

Xbox Live bans won’t kill your Xbox One game library

As if to further demonstrate how Microsoft lacks any sort of unity in its Xbox One message, the company’s online support recently led everybody to believe that the Xbox One’s DRM strategy could strip gamers of their purchases. I was believed a ban from Xbox Live would rob a user of access to one’s library. Major Nelson, in aReddit video interview, contradicted Xbox Support, stating, “Absolutely not, you will always have access to the games you purchase....

Xbox One still doesn’t do external storage, but it’s ‘coming soon’

Space is the place We knewalmost a year agothat you’d be stuck with the Xbox One’s 500gb hard drive. Much likeBewitched‘s original Darrin, it is irreplaceable. Our concerns were met with assurances that you could simply use external USB storage, but the One’s launch came and went without such capability. Meanwhile, One owners are sitting on 391gb of usable (for games) hard drive out of the box as the console library slowly grows....

‘General stability’ is always good In what is now a weekly occurrence, the folks at Respawn have deployed a new patch forStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. This one (titled the “December 17 update”) fixes more bugs and in a generic sense, provides “general stability improvements.” That’s whatJedi: Fallen Orderneeds the most, and hopefully after weeks of optimization all of the kinks will be worked out. Outside of that nebulous claim Cal is now “more responsive during combat,” which includes enhanced response time for everything from parrying to sprint attacks....

‘Done Quick’ doesn’t quite do this justice This, kids — this is what happens when you sell your soul to the devil in exchange forTetrisimmortality.
