Third mode announced The single-player campaign and multiplayer ofCompany of Heroes 2will be joined by a third mode, one that’s new for developer Relic Entertainment. A combination of single- and cooperative play, Theater of War is built with replayability in mind and should help transition players like me into a state of mind where we don’t get our asses kicked online. “At launch,” the new mode will feature nine missions for each faction that are based on critical battles from 1941....

Hey, you’re doing it wrong! Developer Robomodo thinks that maybe you don’t know how to play its game,Tony Hawk Ride. The Chicago-based developer has put a slew of “how-to” videos on itsofficial YouTube account, including such gems as “Navigation” and “Basic Grinds.” In myrecent review, I found the game and accompanying board to be frustrating to use and non-responsive. In short, I didn’t have much fun. After dumping hours into the game and receiving little to no rewards, I doubt I’ll go back, even though I appreciate Robomodo’s assistance....

I’m pleasantly surprised The originalRollerCoaster Tycoongames from Chris Sawyer remain my favorite in the genre and, to this day, I still get a kick out of messing with park guests in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. Anyone else? Today, Atari has put out a surprise mobile release,RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic, and I’m ecstatic. ThisiOSandAndroidgame “combines the best elements of both classic titles” and looks like a dream scenario as far as mobile adaptations go....

So long, Jago Killer Instincthas swapped out its first free playable character as of a new 675MB update. Since launch in November, Jago has been freely available to test out. Now, it’s Sabrewulf. There’s balancing and general improvements, like a forced pause when player two’s controller is removed and the display of rank-up/rank-down notifications for both players at the start of a match....

Here comes the sales when you’re fresh out of money from holiday shopping. It never ends! At least Sega is offering some pretty low prices on some of these XBLA, PSN and App Store games. Some of them are 80 percent off. You’ll have to get into each store and dig around to find the deals, but sorting/searching for “Sega” shouldn’t be too hard. The Microsoft offerings are probably the most limited....

Was it worth it? Zelda: Breath of the Wildis a huge game. There’s a colossal conflict, a giant open world, a tremendous amount of side activity — it’s impressive in both its scaleandscope. Well, turns out that may have been less Team ICO’s Fumito Ueda’s decision and more due to behind the scenes decisions at Sony. Tekken Tag Tournament 2was released in Japanese arcades last year and came with 44 characters. That’s a lot, but Producer Katsuhiro Harada wants to introduce evenmorecharacters for the console release. Harada wouldn’t state exactly how many during our Q&A session last week at a Namco Bandai event in Las Vegas, but when he showed off the character select screen before a versus match he pointed to the empty space in the character select plate and simple said “that’s where the new characters will be placed....
