Like TimeSplitters 2’s Anaconda, but the music isn’t incredible

Every now and then I think aboutAnaconda, a competitive multiplayer minigame embedded in the fantasticTimeSplitters 2. It was basicallySnakewith full 360 degree movement, and it was glorious. My friends and I probably spent as much time in college playingAnacondaon a multi-tapped PlayStation 2 as we did playing the rest ofTimeSplitters 2.

Well, the need for extra peripherals for multiplayer battleSnakeis gone now.SQUAKEis onSteam Greenlight, and it looks like it would satisfy my nostalgia for at least a bit. The arenas look a bit larger and more dynamic than the one found inAnaconda, and the “snake” in question is actually a train (that somehow doesn’t require rails). The only thing missing is the mind-invading music, but I’ll let that slide if this gives me an opportunity to reconnect with old friends and force them to crash into my long, luxurious tail (of boxcars).
