So it turns outStarfieldis pretty popular, yeah? Although it’s received some prettygood scores, it’s by no means perfect. However, whatever criticism people have, it hasn’t stopped Bethesda’s new release from being nominated for several awards.

Of course, being one of the most hyped games of this generation,Starfieldhas a number of recognitions. For this year’s GJA, the sci-fi RPG has been nominated for Best Audio, Best Visual Design, and Xbox Game of the Year.
Note: not ‘Game of the Year’ overall
Nobody will be surprised thatStarfieldis being recognized in the industry. However, it’s interesting to note that it isn’t under the PC Game of the Year category. This could be because it’s an Xbox exclusive, but it did release on PC as well.
As for it being the best Xbox game, it’s going up against the likes of the Bethesda-publishedHi-Fi Rush, the remake ofDead Space, and Obsidian’s text-heavy medieval releasePentiment(which I voted for because I’m pretentious like that).
Starfielditself has been received pretty favorably, with it currently showing a pretty solidMetacriticscore of 86 and 84 on PC and Xbox, respectively. However, as time marches on, people are beginning to see the cracks, so maybe it won’t have the legacySkyrimretains to this day.
