I’m an older gamer. You know how I know this? Because when I see things likeThe Bard’s Tale IVis coming out, my nostalgia glands kick into high gear and I resemble a wired Johnny Depp fromFear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
Announced viaTwitterduring PAX South, Brian Fargo, of InXile Entertainment, said the upcoming single-player PC title will try to modernize the genre from whenceBard’s Talecame.

“This is a special game for me,” Fargo toldGame Informer. “It was the first game that really put Interplay on the map, and it just happens that this will fall on the 30th anniversary.”
The game will look to modernize itself while at the same time revisiting the various locations and classes from earlier installments.

As should be expected,The Bard’s Tale IVplans to be a classic dungeon crawler with HUD elements kept to a minimum. Remember when we didn’t have 50 different shiny things all over the screen holding our hands?
