Companies, release dates, and platforms have yet to be announced

It was only a matter of time, but it’s now official: theFive Nights at Freddy’sseries is getting remade for consoles.

According tocomments madeby developer Scott Cawthon on theFive Nights at Freddy’s 4Steam forum, he is currently in discussions with multiple companies to remake the originalFNAFgames (assumedly that’sFNAF 1-4,withFNAF Worldleft out) for consoles:

“Actually, yes! It will happen. I’m talking with a few companies who are interested in doing console remakes of the original games.”

TheFive Nightsengine, Clickteam Fusion, isn’t the most robust thing in existence and is only able to build games for specific platforms. It makes sense Cawthon would need outside help to rebuild the games to get around that, but it’s interesting that he emphasises these games will befull-on remakesrather than just ports.

Which companies will be working on it, and what platforms they’ll be released on, are entirely up in the air at this point. All we know is it’s happening.
