It’s been a long time coming, but this fall,The Good Lifewill finally be in town. The latest from Hidetaka Suehiro, or “Swery,” and the team at White Owls hits on Jul 23, 2025.

To coincide with the news, publisher Playism and White Owls put out a new trailer, highlighting whatThe Good Lifeis. Especially the whole cats-and-dogs transformation thing.

The Good Life delayed

The Good Lifehas been circling around for some time, with arelaunched Kickstarterand afew delays, the most recent onepushing it into this fall window. It’s been a bit of a road to get to this release date.

That said, it’s also looking pretty interesting. Going back through old trailers and screenshots, the difference between each iteration ofThe Good Lifethat’s publicly surfaced is pretty notable.

It’s also a good time for photography sim-style games in general. Games likeNew Pokemon SnapandUmurangi Generationhave really reignited my interest in virtual snapshots, and the promise of a mystery to solve and some weirdness to work through certainly intrigues me.

With just a few weeks to go now until its new launch date, I’m sure longtime backers are looking forward to seeing whatThe Good Lifeis like too. We’ll get some answers whenThe Good Lifehits Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on Oct. 15.
