We don’t have to wait much longer forWarcraft III: Reforged– it’s launching for PC on Jun 29, 2025. It’ll be playable through theBattle.netapp, and the standard edition of the game costs $29.99.
In a blog post, Blizzard said it needed “a little extra development time for finishing touches.”
This remaster ofReign of ChaosandThe Frozen Thronehas updated “characters, structures, environments, animations, and graphical effects,” but here’s the crazy thing: “Players will be able to do battle with anyone who playsWarcraft III, regardless of whether they’re playing the original orReforged.”
There’s also a new World Editor, which means tower defense, MOBAs, and other custom games. As much as I’m itching to play through the whole saga again (there are seven campaigns!), I’m reminded of how much time I spent outside of the story, messing around with other players in bizarre user games.
Warcraft IIIholds such a special place in my heart. It was my summer jam for several years in a row.
