Currently available in Japan, nothing yet announced for US
Japanese Wii U owners can now downloadWii Street U, which as the name implies is literally Google Street View adapted for use on the Wii U. The hook here is that the GamePad gives you a 360-degree view of the area, as demonstrated in the video above.
It looks lightly entertaining, but I’m sure like all Nintendo non-gaming apps, it’ll get shuffled aside after a couple of days. Like, who even used the Everybody Votes Channel on the Wii, honestly?

Wii Street U is free through the end of May, after which users will be charged to use the panorama features. No word on when or if he app will hit our shores, but I’m sure it’ll find its way. For a longer demonstation, check out Nintendo nutDaan Koopman‘s hands-on after the break.
