Backstab your friends in March of the Eagles

No Spain, no gain I can’t say I was particularly sold onMarch of the Eagles— Paradox Development Studio’s latest grand strategy endeavor — after playing with the beta build I received a couple of months ago. At first I thought I might rather like the stronger focus on war and its clearly defined goals, the things that set it apart from titles likeEuropa UniversalisorCrusader Kings II,but I quickly started to miss the depth and complexity, and feared that warfare alone would not be able to hold my interest....

Destructoid’s games of the week for 11/19/06: We failed History edition!

If there was one thing I can remember clearly about the war, it’s how much I hate werewolves! Some people will tell you that Hitler was the greatest threat to freedom and liberty in the 20th century, but I disagree; the greatest threat to freedom, liberty, and people not wanting to be werewolves, wasDEFINITELYWerewolf Hitler. There arethosewho would tell you that the Holocaust didn’t happen, and that’s just wrong. Adorable obliteration Enter the Gungeonis a title I’ve been keeping an eye on. Any game that name checksBinding of IsaacandNuclear Throneis going to pique my interest, butGungeonhas enough of its own style to step out of the shadow of its inspirations and stand on its own. WhileIsaacis a stomach turning black comedy, andNuclear Thronealternates between absurdity and melancholy,Gungeonis just… goofy. In a good way. Gotta respect a game that knows what it’s about....
