Latest trailer reminds us that Knack still exists

And that it’s worth remembering I feel bad for not being more invested inKnackwhen I’m reasonably sure it will end up being a worthy pickup for PlayStation 4 owners. For starters, it looks like something Pixar could have put out, which isn’t the kind of thing that gets said frequently enough in gaming. More importantly, however, the villains inKnackare goblins. Humans fighting goblins, no less! If you need any more convincing, it’s being designed by SCE Japan Studio andMark Cerny....

My five dream game-to-TV adaptations

What I would give to binge through these shows… After the success of the Netflix adaptation ofThe Witcher, and the upcoming productions ofLast of UsandCupheadshows, it seems that TV studios are looking more and more to the interactive medium for inspiration. Any attempts to make games work as movies seem to have failed, so it’s only natural that they’re pivoting to a different medium. When a game’s runtime usually clocks in at a few dozen hours, a season of TV makes way more sense when it comes to developing a story....

Pata-Pata-Pata Tat: man inks himself with the Patapon army

I love a good game tattoo (and by good, I do not meanthis), but for me ink has to be subtle and clean or it just doesn’t appeal to me.Masatomo Ueda’sPatapontattoo fits the bill on both counts, showing a little army of Hatipon, Yaripon, and Yumipon sieging an attack on this chest. You can read a bit more about it on his blog if you like. I’ve honestly never considered a gaming tattoo, despite the fact that gaming has been a part of my life for over twenty years....

Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012 feels oddly relevant today

Why couldn’t this have beenTwisted Metal III? 2012 was a pretty bad year. Your crazy co-worker was right, and the world was laid waste to by Mayans or something. Corporations were quick to rise from the ashes to monetize our misery. Big Daddy, for example, rebuilt the United States into a massive tourist attraction. Relive the days before the catastrophe in luxury and see the sights! But the gig economy won’t be kept down....

Sony opens first-party VR-focused studio, names it after Kanye’s baby

Probably, I think Sony’s sure taking virtual reality seriously. It wasn’t long ago that we weren’t completely positive if Project Morpheus was meant for a retail release, or if it were just a research and development project to show off emerging trends. Now, we know that the PS4 VR headset is definitely coming out, and it’ll happen sometime in early(ish) 2016. Judging by somerecent job listings, it seems as if Sony’s also intent on creating its own games for this platform, rather than let third-parties do all the work....
