Notes from the Reddit ‘Ask Me Anything’ of a supposed Xbox One developer An Xbox One developertook to Redditover the weekend for an AMA, ‘Ask Me Anything,’ following in the footsteps of American president Barack Obama and this one woman who had over 34 piercings. The AMA was done anonymously, but Reddit moderators had enough to go on to confirm the status of the individual opening the floor to questions (and responding candidly to DRM inquiries)....

Will take longer to play than all of the Kingdom Hearts games I, personally, was never really intoTalisman, the fantasy tabletop game that blew up huge during my formative years. I did take a stab at it several years back, in an evening that lasted a lifetime and ultimately ended with us designating a winner. Guild of Magic Koei Tecmo announced that it will be producing a JRPG based on the acclaimedFairy Tailmanga/anime. A series focused on wizards battling demons and dragons, the game will feature a story with supervision by creator Hiro Mashima to ensure it is faithful to the source material. The title will he beading to PC (via Steam), PS4, and Switch sometime in 2020. There isn’t much more information to go on, but Koei Tecmo will be talking more about the game at the 2019 Tokyo Game Show next week....

Yep, this is aZeldagame.The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, a follow up to the belovedA Link to the Past, is dropping in November. It’s also adding a new mechanic reminiscent ofSideway New York. Link flattens to a 2D sketch and adheres to walls. Not terribly inventive, but it could be used well in puzzles. I think getting caught up in the excitement that is a sequel toA Link to the Pastmight have skewed my expectations forA Link Between Worlds....

Capcom has yet to release any news of a new game, but it does make sense that they would do a sequel to the more successfulResident Evilentry over the main numbered ones. This week’s addition to Xbox Live Arcade is an adaptation of the hit 1999 card gameLost Cities. It’s hard to describe howLost Cities(800 Microsoft Points) is played, since I’ve never actually tried the game before, but it has to do with investing in expeditions and amassing points. Anyone want to give us a more in-depth description of the game? Unsurprisingly, Hideo Kojima has been bombarded by questions on Twitter, following the reveal ofMetal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Amidst the inquisition, Kojima has revealed that theMetal Gear Solid: Risingwe originally knew had been quietly canceled, and thatRevengeanceis set afterMGS4, not before it as once believed. “The oldRisingthat was being prototyped at Kojima Productions looked visually likeMetal Gear, but it was 30 frames per second and required complicated controls,” he revealed. However, when the studio was unable to focus the game’s direction, it was unceremoniously canceled....

Password reset incoming in North America Riot Games has issued a security update that applies to North American players ofLeague of Legends. Account information — including usernames, transaction records from 2011, and hashed and salted passwords and credit card numbers — has been compromised. Here’s the official line from the company: “What we know: usernames, email addresses,salted password hashes, and some first and last names were accessed. This means that the password files are unreadable, but players with easily guessable passwords are vulnerable to account theft....

When a console has been out for more than a year, you can usually expect a price cut on the horizon. Both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 have had prices lowered since launch, but the Wii laughs at them, keeping its cost and still outselling the pair of them. Nintendo hasno plans to change thateither. “Our earnings projection for the year is not based on hardware price cuts, and I don’t think we are going to need them,” stated Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, possibly while laughing hysterically, shooting off bottle rockets and riding a golden donkey on a floor crafted from naked, writhing 18-year-olds....
